battle of the bands - PART I

for the first time in many many years, USM engineering campus saw its first battle of the bands, which had a number of awesome line ups consisting of very very talented young musicians. the participants were enthusiastic to play and show their very best as well as the supportive crowds, that made it all the way from various places. everyone was fully committed to this event to make it a great one.

in total of 18 bands, which consists of participants from USM main campus, Penang, USM Engineering campus, as well as UiTM Penang, took part with more than 30 songs played. the competition started a bit after 8pm and it ended with a blast around 1.30am. out of the 18 bands, only 5 made it through to the finals, which will be held later in the evening today.

my opinion?

i think it was a very entertaining show which show cased a number of very very powerful bands also talented performers, some of which was able to mesmerize me with their music. there were a few disappointments though. i was hoping the 1st year band, m.o.wisdom could make it through to the finals, but they didn't. the vocalist had a great voice in my opinion. he sang my favourite songs as well, so that's a plus! ;)

anyways i was also quite shock to see the number of participants from Borneo. almost half of the bands were from there! they were very talented of course, with great voices, which explained the m.o.w (the vocalist is from Sabah)

anyways. i managed to capture almost 14 bands in action, a few on video. this was all before my camera gave up on me. pfft! i need a new batt! humph!

but its ok. i've fully charged them for tonight's event. hopefully i'll get everything.
