wife in the fast lane

as predicted, i have finished yet another book. this is what happens when i curl up with a good book. it will never last me 24 hours. now i gotta find another book. haha.

wife in the fast lane

anyways, i've been reading the book called "wife in the fast lane". this book is about a lady, a former two time olympic gold-medalist who decides to quit running and start her own shoe company, Baby G, which took everything that she had to get to the top. while being the CEO of the multimillion dollar business, she met her hubby who is also a powerful and gorgeous CEO. however, while in the best times of her life, she inherits a custody of an 11 year old girl. suddenly she finds herself battling between three formidable opponents: a treacherous business partner bent on ousting her from the company she founded, a ruthless stay-at-home mom who'll stop at nothing to maintain her PTA power base, and a stunning single woman scheming to steal her husband. who ever said being successful was easy?

she meets a huge downfall in her career which sent her off the radar, well not exactly. she managed to twist it to her own good and rise up again. but she seems to have lost who she really is and almost lost her hubby along the way. however, being it a chickflick, it has to end up all lovey dovey and happy so yeah. she gathered herself, fixed her life, family and was at the top of her league once again.

*sigh*

i love chicklits. i wish life was as easy as it is written in the stories.

of the two books i've read for the past 36 hours, they're both about successful women juggling the obstacles in their life and having to prioritize the important things in their life or end up losing everything all at once. damn. i wish i was successful but not having put through all those rubbish. but like i said, success doesn't come easy nor clean. a lot of hard work and sacrifice must be made. at the end of the day, the question is: are you willing to sacrifice?

despite them being chicklits, you do sometimes learn a thing or two from these stories. what have i learn? life's a bitch, then you die. haha! ok. joking. erm. well i've learned that success doesn't come easy (duh). if you don't mind growing old alone, then be my guess. but you can always find a man as successful as you are along the way. just as long as its not some sleazy perverted old fart. and what goes around, comes around. you will never always be on top. you will eventually be at the bottom. but for how long? it all depends on you and how well you handle the situation.

life oh life.

i am yet to experience all those things. i think i see it coming maybe 10 years from now? who knows? i might be some famous mogul (haha! AS IF!!) or some Datin (hahah! BIG JOKE!) or some expert researcher who found the use of something. i don't know. i really don't. we'll just see where everything takes me. ok? :)

anyways. i better get some rest. tomorrow's gonna be a long day for me.

gnite darlinks :)

xoxo
